The Daniel Defense DD4 RIII is a fully ambidextrous, mil-spec AR-15 platform engineered for competitive shooters, tactical operators, and serious defenders who demand performance without compromise. Chambered in 5.56 NATO and fed by a 32-round magazine, this rifle is built to perform from first round to last.

At its core is a 16″ Cold Hammer Forged (CHF) Chrome Moly Vanadium steel barrel with a Government Profile, 1:7 twist rate, chrome lining, and Mil-Spec heavy phosphate coating — all HP/MPI tested for uncompromising reliability. The mid-length direct impingement gas system delivers a notably smoother recoil impulse, enabling faster and more precise follow-up shots.

The fully ambidextrous lower receiver — CNC machined from 7075-T6 aluminum with Type III Hard Coat Anodizing — allows right- and left-handed shooters to operate the bolt catch, safety selector, and magazine release without ever breaking their firing grip. The GRIP-N-RIP ambidextrous charging handle completes the truly ambidextrous experience. An enhanced flared magazine well and rear QD swivel attachment point add practical utility for dynamic shooting environments.

The 12.5″ RIS III M-LOK handguard, inspired by the legendary SOCOM RIS II two-piece design, is CNC machined from 6061-T6 aluminum in Flat Dark Earth (FDE) with Type III Hard Coat Anodizing. It offers lightweight rigidity, M-LOK accessory attachment, and compatibility with the M203 grenade launcher. The Daniel Defense Flash Suppressor — crafted from 17-4 PH stainless steel with a salt bath nitride finish — is threaded 1/2×28.

Rounding out the build are a Mil-Spec M16-profile bolt carrier group with chrome lining and a properly staked gas key, a 6-position Mil-Spec receiver extension, and Daniel Defense’s own glass-filled polymer buttstock and pistol grip with soft touch overmolding for a comfortable, secure hold in any condition.
